YREN provides direct support through activities, aiming to reduce isolation and loneliness and bring communities together. Allowing members collectively to speak out about issues and raise concerns so that their voice is heard in the community. As part of the festival we will provide a cultural workshop to raise awareness.
Sunflowers Kids Club - Arts and crafts activities
The Art Teacher from Sunflowers Kids Club will deliver a creative workshop for children attending the festival about ‘vyshyvankas’ - a traditional Ukrainian shirt, embroidered with folk patterns. Children will have an opportunity to design and draw or colour in their own pieces of clothing (skirts, dresses, shirts) with Ukrainian traditional patterns. Sunflowers Kids Club is a centre for children’s creativity and resilience for Ukrainian refugee children.
